No baby - for now

Up until recently, whenever I would see a posting or a picture of a friend of mine on facebook mention they were expecting a baby, there was a part of me that would get sad and think "Awww...I want to be pregnant".
Even when Tori Spelling announced she was having a third baby, I was bummed that it wasnt me.
Now keep in mind, I already have two beautiful, healthy, happy children. One girl, and one boy.
I had the WORST pregnancy ever!  EVER!!!
When I tell you that I was throwing up 6 times a day, there is no exaggeration at ALL. Thats how we knew I was pregnant. I was getting sick all the time. I was MISERABLE. We got married - two months later I was pregnant. We were very lucky that we were not one of these couples who tried years to conceive, or suffered any miscarriages. We decided "lets see what happens". Guess what? IT HAPPENED!
When I found out I was pregnant, I was still working. (Didnt stop working until I was 7 months pregnant with baby #2) So, I used to wake up every morning for work, dry heave. Get dressed, dry heave some more, go to work, and puke a few times there, come home. Eat dinner, and visit the toilet AGAIN. Oh the fun.
And to top off my pregnancy, I worked with a girl who kept trying to get pregnant, and couldn't. So of course I was the evil on in the office because I got pregnant, and she couldn't. (Didn't I mention in my "about me" area how my work life was just GRAND.,...I swear, I have never worked with more dysfunctional people in my life, but thats another blog!)
So here we are today. August 2011, and of course, finances play a big role in having a family, but I'm pretty satisfied with my little family. Granted, if I won the lottery tomorrow, I would get pregnant, have surrogates, adopt, and I would have a house full of children! Because again this is me with my lottery dream - I would have a large house, just full of nannies!  I could be the Camille Grammer (from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) of Tampa Bay and have 2 nannies per child. You know, when RHOBH first came on, and they showed her with her nannies, I, like so many other women judged her. Then in December of 2010 my son was born, and here I was with two kids under two. I was outnumbered!!!  I would have hired a nanny in a SECOND!  Hell, I was so sleep deprived, I would have even let my husband have sex with the nanny.  I didnt care.  All I wanted was sleep!  LOL
But to end my post, for the time being, there are no babies growing in this belly.  And as for the future, we don't know about that either.
Like I told my husband when we got married: "When they pick us."  Whatever happens, I'm damn lucky that these two little monkeys picked me to be their mommy.

Giving my daughter her 15 mins of blog fame

She's sitting next to me and typing away, so here you go G. Its your turn to tell cyberspace YOUR thoughts girlfriend! Mommy loves you! xo

Ok - welll she said "I'm supposed to write a book" Looks like we have a future author on our hands! As long as whatever she does makes her happy, I'm on board!!! (A nice paycheck would be a plus though lol)

Baby Einstein aka Baby Crack

My son is 8 months old. Whenever he needs to chill, I put on one of our 20+ Baby Einstein videos. I personally will take Baby Einstein over any Wiggles, Barney, or any other annoying characters that sing and dress up in scary costumes. (Well, except for Sesame Street. I grew up on that, so we have to give that show a pass)
Baby Einstein plays classical music that I actually enjoy listening to (having played violin since I was in the 4th grade). These are actually songs that I remember playing, and are soothing as I **try** to get some things accomplished around the house.
Even some of these DVD's say they are for "babies" my 2 1/2 year old daughter likes them too. But its great seeing my son loving these colors, songs, and mesmerizing colors just trickle away. It like puts you in this "zen" mode. I guess thats why it became so awesome, that Disney bought them.
What is it about this? I think that that every parent of a child under 3 needs to own at least ONE Baby Einstein DVD. I personally put this on my "must have" new mom checklist. Forget that stupid bubbling jacuzzi bath that you are going to use one time, and finally realize its easier to just bathe them in the sink - BUY A BABY EINSTEIN DVD!!!
Not to mention as your child gets older, you get to hear him/her giggling at the puppets on the show is just priceless. I wouldnt trade those giggles for anything.

"Baby's first drag show"

So here I am, at the 11th hour trying to find an outfit for my sons Christening. Its on September 11th. Wasnt too sure about the date. I mean, here it is the 10 year anniversary of one of the most significant days since I've been alive. Now is the time, looking for an outfit that is: 1) Acceptable for a Catholic Church.  2) Wont roast my sun in this Florida heat.  3) wont make him look like a girl.
While I'm searching for this outfit (one that he will never wear again in his life. Its not like we have a wedding or something that he can wear this to again). I cant help but think of that line from "Sex and the City" when Carrie is helping Miranda search for an outfit for little Brady's Christening. "Baby's first drag show".
Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm a stay at home mom? So that means I'm a broke bitch. So I can't (not that I would even if I did have a job or the money) go spending crazy money on an Christening outfit that he's never going to wear again.
Ahh...back to the online shopping boards. :)
